I never was an activist, that is till Occupy Wall Street started. I have a strong sense of standing up for what you believe in. Occupy gave me that outlet for the first time and has it been a wild ride. I founded Parents for Occupy Wall St in 2011.

The combined experience of my professional management work and the crash course in grass roots organizing I received through Occupy helped me be one of the first responders on the ground when Hurricane Sandy hit Brooklyn NY. Through this I founded the nonprofit Red Hook Volunteers which helped rebuild and support Red Hook Brooklyn, New York.

Director Dana Glazer  followed my work for two years as an activist and is celebrating that work in his film "Parents of the Revolution".
